Gas lights up Celtic Springs

CA Newport office development has attracted one of the largest new occupiers to emerge in Wales and the South West of England this year.

Wales and West Utilities has chosen AWG Property's and Broadhall's Celtic Springs Business Park for a new 40,000 sq.ft headquarters, to be built by early 2007.

The new gas and distribution business, which was spun out of the National Grid this summer, will pay about £14 per sq ft for the building. It will use it to manage 34,000km of gas pipelines.

The building will sit alongside a 54,000 sq.ft office block that was let to the Prison Service earlier this year.

Wales & West Utilities will move staff in Cardiff and Bristol to the new building. It is now owned by MGN Networks UK, a subsidiary of Australian investment bank Macquarie.
